Hello,

I am wondering how long Steroid injections work for you? I mean the one injected into the buttock.

I am going on holiday in November and wonder when I should have the injection to get the best benefiit from it.

Hope you are all enjoying lovely weather.

Hi Karen,

I find they usually last about 6 weeks.
You have to rest for 48 hours after the injection to get the maximum benefit.

In my experience about 2-3 weeks. I had three in the back-side.. and once in right knee (that worked wonders)

Hello Karen,

I have had quite a few and mostly they have worked. I would suggest you have the inject
in your bottom 2 weeks before you go away

Hope you going somewhere nice ?

Hello

I have had loads (lost count). They usually work well for me (only a couple of times I've needed a second dose). I normally get some improvement within 48 hours but often it takes a week to get to max. benefit. I find benefits last for about 6 weeks. I think 2 weeks before would be good as it will give you enough time to know if it has worked and if necessary get a second but you will still have max. benefit whilst you are away.

Hope you have a lovely holiday.

Thanks everyone. I will opt for 2 weeks before.

Going to Algarve - a small town called Olhos D'agua. This will be our third time there and, in November, it is like a warm summer day here. Flying with Ryanair and, if all goes well, the help given to disabled people is really good, although, they sometimes get it wrong.
It is nice to get away to the sun when it has disappeared from here and it is quite cheap at this time of year.

Take care,

Karen
